Life has been upside down for the last few weeks as I’ve started a new job. I’m getting used to a longish workday. The usual evening commitments at home – cooking dinner, cleaning up, looking at kid homework – haven’t left much time for writing.
For now, I’m back to waking at 3:45 AM. I’m out the door by 4:30 and home by 6 AM. This regime leaves little opportunity for training variety. I’m working up the courage to roller ski in the dark on the local roads, but for now it’s primarily running.
On my last free weekday before starting work, I managed to get to Mohonk Preserve and ran some trails I haven’t been on before, as well as some of the old standbys. Partially cloudy weather and a nice breeze made for a brisk spring day.
