Whither Mount van Hoevenberg?

Mount van Hoevenberg, the historic venue that hosted the cross-country events of the 1980 Winter Olympics, is at a crossroads.  While the trail system remains one of the most challenging in the U.S, it hasn’t been updated to accommodate modern race formats.  In recent years, ORDA spent millions to build a new convention center in Lake Placid and a state-of-the-art sliding track at the Olympic Sports Complex, which also hosts the ski trails.  Here’s a link to an article I wrote for FasterSkier about Mount van Hoevenberg, and the challenges it faces.
