Jakob Fuglsang to Receive Back Wages from Leopard SA

Have my people talk to your people.  That’s what Jakob Fuglsang did, and his lawyers have reached an agreement with Leopard SA’s lawyers for payment in full.  According to English and Danish news stories, Fuglsang will receive € 134,390, or more than USD $166,000.

It is unknown whether Frank and Andy Schleck, whose wages were also allegedly withheld, have come to an agreement with Leopard.  Sporten.dk reports that RNT support staff and outside vendors have also gone unpaid.

Fuglsang expressed unhappiness with RNT when they left him off this year’s Tour de France squad, and he indicated that he would likely move on when his contract expired. He had to sit out the Giro d’Italia due to injury.

Some reports have Fuglsang returning to SaxoBank-Tinkoff Bank next year, but SaxoBank’s recent signings of Nicholas Roche and Roman Kreuziger may cloud his opportunity there.  Fuglsang said that he’s spoken with Astana and Omega Pharma, and at present, his options are open.
